Goalkeepers

Callum Reckless

Vics number 1 since the glorious double winning season of 2005. The smart stopper guards the goal with a passion, thriving off keeping clean sheets. A great shot stopper and a nightmare for forwards when faced in a one on one. A good talker who tells his back four exactly what he thinks.

Chris Jones
This young keeper has shocked everybody with his commanding performances this season. Stepped into the helm with minimum fuss, starring with some breath taking performances. A commanding performer. An all round great keeper with endless potential, confident kicking and handling on crosses a real strength.

Paul Gregory

Not featured for the 1st team yet this season, but when he does get the call is as reliable as always. Greggsy loves playing for the club and gives his all whenever selected. Safe hands and a kick that goes for miles.

Defenders

Damien Woods  - (Captain)

The elder statesman of the side, but always Mr Reliable. Loves a battle with any centre forward. The Vics skipper is a dominating figure in the back four. Rarely beaten in the air, this no nonesence centre half reads the game superbly. Often the voice on the pitch, Damo is a charactor all the players respect.

Nick Abson - (Vice-Captain)

The future captain of Tarporley Vics FC. Nico has matured into an outstanding central defender. Utilises his electric pace to instill himself as a real asset to the side. Heart of a lion who will throw his body and soul on the line to protect his goal. Player of the year last season, recent form suggesting a double scoop.

Luke Heritage

Made giant strides as a full back since joining the Vics in 2005, Luke is now firmly established as a corner stone of the Vics back four, cementing his left back birth and claiming it as his own. Wonderful first touch with sweet distribution, great when roaming forward but will always prioritise that zero goals against column.

Steve Wright

A true utility player who is used mainly at full back, this lad has a great engine and can run all day. Always first in the tackle, whether an underdog or not. Shows great speed and penetration when driving forward and can unleash a wicked shot. Never gives up until that final whistle sounds.

Matty Jones

Is celebrating his first anniversarry with club and has established himself as mean full back, utilising both his strength and pace to hold off marrauding forwards. Can turn defence into attack with both peircing and penetrating runs forward. As dominant in the air as he is comfortable on the floor.

Shaun Packham
This Aussie stopper has made a real impression on all at the club. A cultured yet commanding centre half who really asks the question when it comes to selection. Sublime first touch and comfortable running with the ball, Shaun offers something a little different to the back four. A true footballer in every sense.

Midfielders

James Cooke

Loves to play with the game in front of him, can pick a pass from nowhere and find feet over distance, whilst quick passes and one, twos a forte of this lad. Strikes a great ball, in paticular from set peices, choose your square in the net and this player can find it. When his heads on it, simply unstoppable.

Mike Parker

When you see this lad drive with the ball, it very often means he is putting the Vics in control of the game. Rapid burst of pace who uses the ball with great intellegance. Can thread a pass nobody else sees, whilst doubling up as an outstanding defender who can feature anywhere across the back line.

Jonny Winter
Vics summer signing has proven a real success with some outstanding displays in the middle of the park. A true warrior who fights tooth and nail for every ball. Never one to shirk a tackle, Jonny also finds himself in the right place to score goals. A big strong asset, a big future ahead with the Vics.

Daz Richards

Just about everybodys favourite Vics player. Dogged with injuries so far this season, none the less, retains that burning desire to see the club succeed. The sweetest left foot you have ever seen, whether pinging passes all over the park or spanking shots at goal, Dazzers left footed weapon is a danger to any team.

Andy Clacher

One of the stalwarts of the Vics side nowadays, yet still not in his 30's. Clachs had some golden moments with the club, his most memorable was the 'Cracker from Clacher' in the 1.0 win at FC Utd. A player blessed with a huge engine, an eye for goal and one who can dominate aerially.

Dan Haralambous

A player who catches everybodys eye. Breathtaking ball control with two feet like wands. Samba Dan is a master at running with the ball. Deceptive pace this lad gives defenders a torrid time. Deadly from set peices with an array of shooting options. Dan is the Vics matchwinner, on his day, simply unplayable.

Alex Moore

Won the highest accolade available in being named last seasons 'League Player of the Year', Al has settled into a central midfield birth masterfully, having started his Vics career up front, banging in goals for fun. Only knows how to play one way, covering every blade of grass with 100% commitment and drive. A class act.

Sam Lloyd

A succesful prodigy of the Vics Reserve system. This pacy winger has suprised everybody with his fine form this season considering his tender age. A player who loves running at and past defenders for fun. A keen eye for goal with fabulous delivery from wide areas. A very bright future for this junior Blue & Black.

Eddie Pattinson

There's not a player out there who loves his football more. Edd was a trainee with Everton but stepped up a level when he made his Vics debut at 16. Will play anywhere asked of him, turning in starring performances. Strong on the ball who loves to attack the space. A scorer of mainly wonder goals. A true charactor in the squad.

Alex Rowntree

An honest and hardworking holding midfield player. Puts everything into his game making things look simple with sublime vision and final ball. Crunches into tackles protecting his back 4 at all times. A player blessed with a great touch and two great feet, a true leader in the Vics engine room.

Alley Taylor

This Wisp like winger wears his heart on his sleeve. Never flustered, Tay takes any situation in his stride. Close ball control with a keen eye for goal. Renowned for being the Vics star player through pre-season, always sharp and always ready to give his all. When this lad turns the corner, watch him burn.

Andy Rogers

A pocket rocket in Vics ranks. Technically, about the best player on the ball at the club, silky touches with a wicked turn of pace. Decieves full backs with his size but often delivers that telling pass, cross or goal. Showed great form in early season, before injury slowed his momentum.

Forwards

Henry Buckley

Vics most prolific striker of recent times. 'H' has matured into a real threat on opposing defenders, strong and raw his direct style means he is always in the game. Pure pace leaves hapless defenders in his wake, often delivering the cheekiest of finishes. None stop graft from the first to the last minute of any game.

Richie Moss

This elegant striker glides across the game with deft touches but a dynamite like finish. Finds the right areas to really hurt the opposition and thrives off scoring goals. A superb hold up player who brings others into the game with unreadable passes. A natural finisher who has scored a number of spell binding goals.

Ben Briscoe
A recent acquisition, Ben returns to the club where his heart is having moved away several years ago. Golden moment for the Blue & Black when coming off the bench in the 2005 Cup Final to score a hatrick, clinching the club a double. Direct and pacy with complete composure in front of goal. Watch this space.........

Jonny Haslam

Jonny has had his injury problems but remains a real key player in the Vics squad. Has probably scored more game defining goals than anyother player in his long career with the club. Outstanding attitude to the clubs philosophy, Johny is relied upon to step into the frame, never letting us down. A complete finisher and all round good guy.
